Breaking News Live Updates 5th December 2022: Voting will be held today for the second phase of Gujarat Assembly Elections 2022. The polling will start from 8 in the morning till 5 in the evening. In this phase, voting will be held on 93 assemblies of 14 districts of Gujarat. Let us tell you that the voting for the first phase has been done on December 1, in which voting was held on 89 seats in 19 districts.
Bharat Jodo Yatra of Congress entered Rajasthan on Sunday. Rahul Gandhi and his fellow travelers were welcomed in traditional Rajasthani style on entering the state from Chawli Chauraha, about 40 km from Jhalawar city. To welcome Gandhi and the yatris, cultural artists gave several performances, including the famous Rajasthani song ‘Padharo Mhare Desh’.
Only 50.47 percent polling in MCD elections
Elections for 250 Municipal Corporation wards in Delhi were completed on Sunday. Around 50.47 percent polling was recorded till 5.30 pm. Both the BJP and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) are claiming their respective victories. The State Election Commission said in a statement on Sunday that polling continued even after 5.30 pm in some polling stations where voters were already queuing up inside the polling premises.
Voting has begun today for the by-elections to Mainpuri Lok Sabha and Rampur and Khatauli assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh. In these by-elections, there is a direct contest between the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the alliance of the Samajwadi Party (SP) and the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD). Bahujan Samaj Party and Congress have not fielded their candidates in these by-elections.
